Frequently Asked Questions

We realize that for some, working with a graphic / website design agency may be a new experience, and therefore a little daunting. At Patience Dean Studios we provide a fully transparent design service, and don’t believe in trying to baffle clients with complicated terminology. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions from customers.

If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for below, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

What is a Logo?

A logo is a combination of characters, images and/or graphics creating a single design used to identify an individual, business, company, organization, team or school. The logo is typically a visual image used as a company trademark or instead of the company name. When consisting solely of stylized textual elements, such symbols are referred to as logotypes or wordmarks.

Who owns the rights to my Logo?

Once we have completed the design process, and you have paid in full for your final logo design, the copyrights of that final individual logo are then transferred to you and you own them. We own the rights to any creative concepts not chosen.

How does the design process work, from my initial enquiry, to completion of the job?

1. Create a login by going to the login page on our website.

2. Submit the requirements for your order.

3. You're immediately in a private portal with your designer where you can live chat back and forth about your design if you need to.

4. You can login to your private portal anytime to check the progress of your order. If your designer messages you while you’re not logged in, you’ll be notified by email that you received a message in the portal.

5. Your files are delivered directly to you in the portal to review and accept once completed. Your Files will remain stored in your private portal to return to even after your order is completed.

What Does a Graphic Designer Do?

A designer is a communicator of your idea, your product and your solution to the world.

With training or experience as visual communicators and problem solvers, our designers will combine your content with elements colour, typography, line, space, shape and balance to create a finished communications piece for your business or organization. We will work with you to explore different options or design directions to solve your particular communications challenge.

Your designer will also prepare the ‘mechanical requirements’ of your finished piece and prepare it to the specifications of a printer, magazine, Web host, television studio or any other output medium, to ensure trouble-free output of a final finished product (such as a printed flyer or a Web site).
